The Relationship between Initiative Taking Levels and Problem Solving Skills of School Administrators

This research aims to examine the relationship between initiative taking levels and problem solving skills of school administrators. The was designed as a descriptive relational survey. sample consists 282 preschool, primary, secondary high administrators working in public schools from central Black Sea Region province Turkey. Data were collected through Personal Initiative Measurement Tool for School Principals Problem Solving Inventory. Relationships tested Pearson’s correlation multiple linear regression analyses. Results indicated that there negative significant relationships impulsive avoidant styles all sub-dimensions initiative, while positive reflective style, confidence, monitoring, planfulness. Multiple analyses showed most powerful predictor administrators’ confidence. It concluded supporting principals effective may increase their level initiative.
